Executive coaching is an engagement system
A title does not tell you who the client is, what the sponsor can know, where confidentiality holds, or what evidence belongs in the work.
Advice, executive polish, and generic leadership tools.
- Treats the job title as the whole context
- Leaves sponsor, confidentiality, and reporting vague
- Confuses assessments and activity with evidence
- Drifts quietly into consulting or performance management
Context, contracting, evidence, and boundaries - end to end.
- Defines the actual client, sponsor, stakeholders, and unit of work
- Uses context as a hypothesis, never a label
- Builds contribution evidence without leaking sessions
- Makes the coaching boundary explicit and defensible
Work the sponsored engagement with sharper judgment
Six practical capabilities, from first contract through final close.
Contract sponsored work
Name client, sponsor, stakeholders, confidentiality, records, reporting, outcomes, and re-contracting triggers.
Prepare without anchoring
Separate facts, working hypotheses, counter-hypotheses, and what must still be asked.
Adapt across contexts
Account for career depth, board and CEO roles, ownership, funding, regulation, culture, and organizational stage.
Use evidence responsibly
Choose assessments, stakeholder interviews, 360s, AI, and data practices only when purpose, competence, consent, and limits are clear.
Coach recurring agendas
Work with influence, strategy, change, conflict, executive presence, and developing others while keeping ownership with the client.
Close and defend the boundary
Review contribution, update sponsors, terminate cleanly, refer when needed, and explain why the engagement still belongs in coaching.

Authored end to end by a working executive coach
Written, recorded, and reviewed by an active Master Certified Coach who works where individual development meets sponsor expectations and organizational reality.

Alex coaches senior leaders and has spent years working inside the three-party reality of executive coaching: the leader, the sponsoring organization, and the coach. His approach is direct about power, evidence, confidentiality, and the line between coaching and consulting. The course turns that operating discipline into a repeatable engagement system without pretending context can replace curiosity.

Before you enroll
Is this an ICF CCE-approved course?
No. The application pack is in preparation. The course may not be claimed for ICF CCE hours unless and until ICF approves it and Tandem publishes the awarded total and CC/RD split.
How long is the course?
Plan for approximately 30 hours across 74 videos, guided reading, tools, case work, a 24-question verification attempt, and the Executive Coaching Engagement Pack. This is a workload estimate, not an approved CCE total.
Does the course qualify me as an executive coach?
It provides structured education and evidence of completion. It does not confer experience, supervision, buyer credibility, a protected title, or competence beyond the work you can demonstrate in practice.
What is included?
Fifteen modules, 74 video lessons, 57 printable resources, six local-first tools, the verification quiz, and one private instructor-reviewed capstone submission.
How do I enroll?
Executive Coaching in Context is included in Practitioner Series All-Access at $597 per year with a 7-day free trial. Access ends when the membership ends. Contact Tandem if you need a standalone offer or employer procurement paperwork.
Is my client or sponsor information sent to Tandem?
The six course tools are local-first. They work in your browser and do not require you to submit client or sponsor information. Your capstone should use a composite, fictionalized, or appropriately de-identified case.
What is the difference from Systemic Coaching for Executive Teams?
This course keeps one executive’s sponsored engagement as the unit of work. Systemic Coaching treats the team or relationship system as the client. If the unit changes, the agreement, competencies, evidence, and boundaries change with it.
