Wheel of Life
(10 Domains)

Assessment & Discovery Tools

A ten-domain life audit that shows where the wheel is flat.

About This Tool

The Wheel of Life is a snapshot, not a verdict. It captures where you are right now across the domains that make up a full professional and personal life — and more usefully, it shows the gap between where you are and where you'd want to be. A low score in one area isn't a problem to fix immediately; it's information about where attention has been absent and where the return on investment might be highest.

This version uses ten domains instead of the standard eight. The split is intentional: "career" becomes two distinct domains (Career Satisfaction and Organizational Leadership) because leaders often experience these very differently — finding work meaningful while struggling with how they lead, or leading confidently while questioning the direction of their career. Financial Health appears as its own domain for the same reason: it rarely fits cleanly into either career or personal wellbeing. The extra granularity gives the assessment more diagnostic precision.

How to Use This Assessment

  1. Rate each domain honestly — current experience, not aspirational. Use the wheel diagram to mark your score on each spoke, then connect the dots.
  2. Complete the rating table: current score, ideal score, and the gap (ideal minus current). Add brief notes on what's driving the score.
  3. The gap column is the most useful output. Large gaps signal where the most energy is being lost.
  4. Answer the three reflection questions before reviewing your full wheel.
  5. Return to this assessment in 90 days to track movement.

Mark your current satisfaction (1 = low, 10 = high) on each spoke. Connect the marks to reveal the shape of your wheel.

Before Your Next Session

Look at the shape your wheel makes. Where is it most irregular — where do the highs and lows create the most imbalance? What would it take to raise your lowest scores by two points each? Is that a resource question, a priority question, or something else?
