Why Track Your Emotional Week?

Emotions follow weekly patterns most people never notice. Monday anxiety, Wednesday energy dips, Friday relief - these rhythms are real, and they're repeatable. But without data, they stay invisible: just a vague sense that "some weeks are rough" or "mornings are hard."

Tracking emotions by day across several weeks surfaces the rhythm. Once you see it, you can plan around it rather than being caught off guard by it. You can schedule demanding work on high-energy days, protect low-energy days from overload, and stop treating predictable dips as personal failures.

This calendar is a data-gathering tool. There is no right or wrong way to feel on any given day. The goal is to notice - and over time, to recognize what your week actually looks like, not what you assume it does.

How to Use This Calendar

  1. Fill in each day at the end of the day, while it is still fresh. Avoid filling in retroactively - memory filters emotion more than you expect.
  2. For dominant emotion, write one word that best captures the overall emotional tone of the day. Not every feeling, just the one that stood out most.
  3. Rate intensity on a 1-10 scale. Circle the number: 1 = barely noticeable, 10 = overwhelming. Use the full range.
  4. For trigger, name the specific event, interaction, or circumstance that seemed to drive the dominant emotion. If nothing stands out, write "unclear."
