Measuring What Matters

High performers track what they measure at work. They monitor revenue, delivery timelines, team performance. The dimensions of their own growth often go unmeasured - which means they go unmanaged.

This tracker applies the same logic to personal development that leaders already use for business performance: rate where you are, identify where you want to be, and name one concrete action that moves you in that direction. Done monthly, it surfaces patterns. You will see which dimensions consistently score low and stay there - a signal that the actions you have been choosing are not working, or that you have been avoiding this dimension entirely.

The eight dimensions here reflect the areas that most commonly create imbalance in leaders: career, health, relationships, finances, and the less-tracked dimensions - purpose, rest, learning, and the quality of your inner life. No single dimension is more important than the others. But persistent neglect of any of them tends to show up eventually in the ones you do care about.

How to Use This Tracker

  1. Rate each dimension honestly, not aspirationally. A 7 is not what you want it to be - it is where it actually is today.
  2. Record your target for each dimension. Where do you want this to be in 90 days? This is your direction, not a commitment.
  3. Write one specific action per dimension. Not "exercise more." Something specific: "Walk 30 minutes three times this week." Small enough to start this week.
  4. Set a date to revisit. Monthly works best. Put it in your calendar before you close this worksheet.
  5. Compare scores month to month. Movement in any direction is information. Stagnation in a dimension you care about deserves attention in your coaching conversation.
