ADHD Executive Function Tools
A structured look across eight life domains — setting direction
for the month ahead.
Eight domains. Most people fill in the easy ones first — Career and Finance get clear prose while Health and Recreation end up with single words or blank space. The pattern is predictable: attention goes to where the pressure is, and the rest gets deferred.
What this tool surfaces is less a vision and more a reveal. When you look at the completed grid, the domains with the most words are usually the ones already consuming you. The ones with the least are often where the real tension lives — not because nothing matters there, but because ADHD makes it harder to plan for things without deadlines or external accountability.
The exercise is worth doing even — especially — when you don’t feel like you have a vision. A half-filled grid is information. A blank Health quadrant after three months of feeling drained is a signal.
The steps below are designed to work against the pattern of filling only what comes easily and skating past the rest.
Take a few minutes with your completed grid before bringing it to coaching.
Look at the two domains you filled in least. Not the ones you left blank by accident — the ones you noticed yourself skipping. What would it cost you to have a clearer picture there?
What is the first thing you would actually need to do differently this month if that domain got real attention?
