GOAL SETTING TOOLS

Map your top priorities to specific months so the year
has shape before it starts.

Planning the Whole Year

Most goal-setting work stops at the list. You write down what you want to accomplish, feel the clarity of having it on paper, and move on. What gets skipped is the distribution - deciding when each goal gets your attention and in what sequence. Without that step, a list of ten intentions competes against itself all year.

This tool separates the two decisions. The left side captures what matters. The right side answers when. Placing a goal in March rather than "sometime this year" is a different kind of commitment - it makes the calendar an accountability partner instead of an afterthought.

How to Use This Worksheet

  1. Start with the goal list. Write your top priorities for the year - up to ten. Priority order is helpful but not required; capturing them all matters more.
  2. Move to the month grid. For each goal, decide which month it becomes the primary focus. Write it in. One goal can span multiple months - write it in both.
  3. Notice where goals cluster. Three things landing in January is a pattern worth examining. So is a month that stays empty.
  4. Use the Notes area for dependencies between goals, seasonal constraints, or goals you are deferring to next year.
  5. Return to this page at the start of each month as a check-in. Cross off what moved, adjust what shifted.
