MINDSET & GROWTH TOOLS
Name the beliefs that constrain your choices,
then construct more functional alternatives.
Limiting beliefs do not announce themselves. They operate as assumptions - background conditions that feel like facts. "I'm not a natural leader," "I need more experience before I can do that," "People like me don't get opportunities like that." The content varies. The structure is the same: a generalization about yourself or the world that narrows what you consider possible.
The Reframe worksheet works by making the belief explicit and then asking a specific question: what is a more functional alternative? Not necessarily the opposite - a complete reversal often feels as false as the original. A more functional alternative is a belief that explains the same situation but gives you more room to act.
Three rows means three beliefs. Most clients can name more. The steps below explain how to select the ones worth working.
Look at the "Better Alternatives" column. Which one would require the most from you to actually live by? What would you have to stop doing, or stop tolerating, to act from that belief?
