Life Plan

PLANNING & ORGANIZATION TOOLS

Describe the life you want in concrete terms,
then identify the actions required to build it.

Where This Tool Helps

A life plan that stays abstract never becomes a plan - it remains an aspiration. The value of the "My Ideal Life" section is not the vision itself but the specificity of the description. When you can describe your typical day in detail - not just the feeling but the actual structure, activities, and relationships - you have something you can compare to your current day and work toward deliberately.

Most clients write in outcomes: "I want to be healthy," "I want financial freedom." Push past that to describe the day itself. What time do you start work? Who do you talk to? What does the afternoon look like? That level of detail reveals what you actually want versus what you think you should want.

The Action Steps section is where the vision becomes a plan. The steps below are designed to move you from description to commitment.

How to Use This Worksheet

  1. In "My Ideal Life," describe a specific future day - not the best day imaginable, a typical excellent day. Walk through it from morning to evening.
  2. Do not edit yourself during the initial write. Write what you actually want, not what feels realistic. You can reality-test later.
  3. After writing, read back what you wrote. Underline the three elements that feel most important or most absent from your current life.
  4. In "Action Steps," write concrete next steps - each tied to one of the elements you underlined. "Be more intentional" is not an action step; "block two hours on Thursday for deep work" is.
  5. Bring the completed plan to your next coaching session. The gap between this page and your current life is the agenda.
