Intention & Visualization Worksheet

REFLECTION & JOURNALING TOOLS

Define what you are working toward, picture it clearly,
and name the actions already underway.

Where This Tool Helps

Visualization is most useful when it is specific. The vague version - imagining a general feeling of success - produces a vague response. This worksheet structures the process: name what you are working toward, then describe the sensory and emotional experience of having it, then identify the concrete actions that move you toward it.

Section 2 is where most people lose precision. The four sentence starters (I feel / I am / I have / I see) are designed to pull the description into the present tense and into specific detail. The quality of that description affects the quality of the intention. Clients who write "I feel successful" get less traction than clients who write "I feel clear-headed and in control of my time."

Section 4 - what has already arrived - grounds the exercise in evidence rather than hope. The steps below are ordered to build that structure deliberately.

How to Use This Worksheet

  1. In Section 1, name what you are working toward. Be specific enough that you would recognize it when it arrived.
  2. In Section 2, complete each of the four sentence starters in detail. Avoid abstractions. What do you literally feel, see, have, and experience?
  3. In Section 3, list the intentional actions you are currently taking that move toward this outcome. These should be things you are actually doing, not things you intend to do.
  4. In Section 4, list what has already moved in your direction - early evidence, resources in place, support you have found.
  5. Return to this worksheet periodically and update Sections 3 and 4. They should be changing.

Intention & Visualization

1   I am working toward...
2   Visualize it coming true...
I feel...
I am...
I have...
I see...
3   What intentional actions are you taking?
4   What has already arrived in your direction?

To Consider

Look at Section 3 - what you said you are doing. Is there a gap between what you wrote and what is actually happening? What would closing that gap require?
