Belief in yourself, the ability to stay positive, flexibility in thinking, decision-making, and the ability to follow through on goals are foundational. They affect everything that happens above them. A leader who rates their ability to stick to goals at 3 while rating decision-making at 9 has an insight gap worth exploring: what happens between the moment a good decision is made and the moment it is carried out?
The NOT VERY to EXTREMELY scale invites a more honest response than a numerical scale that starts at zero. Most people resist rating themselves at the extremes on a number scale. The endpoint labels create permission to acknowledge both real limitation and genuine strength.
