GOAL SETTING TOOLS
Twelve sentence stems that build a complete picture of what drives you
and where you are going.
Goal-setting tools typically start with what you want to achieve. This one starts further back — with who you are. The twelve stems here map your drives, habits, fears, and aspirations before any goal is named. That sequence matters. Goals that are disconnected from what actually motivates someone tend to stall at the first obstacle. Goals that emerge from a clear understanding of what someone loves, fears, and believes tend to be more durable.
Most people complete the easier stems first: Loves, Wants to, Is happiest when. The stems that take longer — Is afraid of, Has a habit of, Would give — are usually the ones that contain the most useful information. Leaving those blank or writing something safe is a choice worth noticing.
The steps below are sequenced to build from the accessible toward the more revealing.
