Hopes & Dreams - Part Two

Part One surfaced what you want. This worksheet moves to what it would take to get there. The shift matters - most people have clear enough wants, but underinvest in examining the path between here and there.

The first question here asks you to look at someone who is already living what you described in Part One. That question is practical: what did they actually do? Not their personal qualities or circumstances - their actions. The second question asks you to name specific steps. The third question asks what happens if you don't take them.

That third question is the most important one. Not because it should generate fear, but because it clarifies stakes. The most accurate information about what someone actually wants usually comes from looking at what they're willing to do - and what they're willing to let happen if they don't.

How to Use This Worksheet

  1. Complete Part One first if you haven't already. The answers here build on those answers.
  2. For question 1, name a real person if possible - someone whose path you can actually trace. If not a specific person, describe a type of path.
  3. For question 2, write concrete steps, not qualities ("get better at networking" is not a step; "reach out to three people in my field this month" is).
  4. For question 3, write honestly. The answer often reveals whether the vision from Part One is genuinely wanted or just appealing in the abstract.
Who is living your dream? What did they do to get there?
What specific steps could you take to move toward your hopes and dreams?
If you don't take those steps, where will you be in five years?

Reflect

Looking at both parts of this exercise together: what is one action from question 2 that you could take this week? What, if anything, has been getting in the way of taking it?
