Where This Tool Helps

The monthly tracker serves a different purpose than the weekly version. Where weekly tracking catches daily patterns, the monthly view reveals which habits have actually taken hold and which ones are still fragile. A habit that shows up reliably for three weeks and then disappears in week four is telling you something specific about what disrupts it.

For executives with ADHD, the monthly view also helps counter a common distortion: because ADHD affects memory for recent events, it is easy to underestimate how consistent you have actually been, or to overestimate a good week and treat it as evidence of a solved problem. The grid makes both visible in the same glance.

The format here uses 4-week columns instead of 31 individual day circles, which keeps the tracker readable at print size and makes week-by-week patterns immediately apparent.

How to Use This Tracker

  1. Enter your habits before the month begins. This is not a place to track aspirational behaviors you have not started yet. Choose habits that are already somewhat established or habits you are actively trying to build this specific month.
  2. At the end of each week, fill in that week's column. A single checkmark per cell is sufficient. You are not logging completion by day in this format - you are capturing whether the habit was maintained consistently that week.
  3. Use the Notes column for context. Travel, illness, or a high-pressure work period will affect any habit. Noting that context prevents the data from appearing worse than it is.
  4. Review month over month, not week over week. The value of this tracker is longitudinal. One month of data is suggestive. Three months is a trend. Keep filled copies rather than discarding them.
  5. Do not track more than 7 habits. A longer list dilutes attention. If something is worth tracking monthly, it is worth focused attention.
