Executive Function
Habits Assessment

ADHD Executive Function Tools

Compare your current habits to what's possible
with stronger executive function.

Understanding the Gap

Executive function challenges show up as habits that feel fixed but aren't. The way you currently handle planning, time, focus, and self-regulation reflects your executive function baseline - not a ceiling. The gap between "how I currently operate" and "how I would operate with stronger executive function" reveals where targeted practice would have the highest return.

This assessment maps that gap across eight professional domains. For each one, you describe your current pattern and then project what would change if that specific executive function were stronger. The comparison does two things: it makes the cost of current habits concrete, and it clarifies which domain improvements would create the most leverage in your work.

How to Use This Assessment

  1. Complete one domain at a time. Read the domain name, reflect on your current pattern, and write it down before moving to the "With Stronger EF" column.
  2. Be specific about patterns, not aspirations. In the current-habits column, describe what actually happens - not what you wish happened. In the stronger-EF column, describe the concrete behavioral change, not a feeling.
  3. Identify your highest-leverage domain. After completing all eight, use the commitment section to name the one domain where change would cascade most broadly into your work.
