Coaching Practice Tools
Pre-written answers to the questions prospective and new clients
ask most - ready to customize with your specific approach and terms.
Most clients arrive with questions they do not ask. They are not sure how coaching compares to what they have tried before. They wonder whether to expect homework, or confrontation, or something that feels like therapy. Left unanswered, those questions become background noise in early sessions.
A FAQ document answers them upfront. It also serves a subtler purpose: it communicates how you work before the first session shapes their expectations. Clients who have read your FAQ arrive already oriented to your style, your boundaries, and your process.
The answers below are templates. The goal is not to use them verbatim but to use them as starting points - each answer should reflect your actual approach, your actual language, and your actual policies. A FAQ full of hedged placeholders signals that you have not thought through your own practice.
The most-skipped question is the last one: under what circumstances you would end a coaching relationship. Answer it specifically. It demonstrates that you take the relationship seriously and that you have handled this before.
