GOAL SETTING TOOLS
Set goals once, track progress all year.
Annual goals typically get set in January and reviewed in December - with eleven months of drift in between. The gap is not a motivation problem. It is a structure problem. Without scheduled checkpoints, it is easy to spend months on the wrong priorities or to discover too late that a goal is off track.
This tracker breaks each goal into quarterly milestones and monthly check-ins so you catch slippage early enough to course-correct. You set direction once, then the tracking rhythm keeps you honest throughout the year.
Complete all four fields for each goal. Three goals is the practical maximum for meaningful annual focus.
Break each goal into four quarterly checkpoints. A milestone is concrete and binary - either you hit it or you did not. Write what you expect to have completed, not what you plan to do.
| Goal | Q1 Milestone | Q2 Milestone | Q3 Milestone | Q4 Milestone |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Goal 1 | ||||
| Goal 2 | ||||
| Goal 3 |
Which milestones were hit?
What needs to shift for next quarter?
Any goals to revise, pause, or remove?
Complete one column per month on a fixed date. On Track = you expect to hit the quarterly milestone at current pace.
Continue monthly check-ins through year-end. Use December to assess final outcomes and inform next year's goal setting.
