Action Brainstorming
Worksheet

PLANNING & ORGANIZATION TOOLS

Clarify what to stop, reduce, keep, increase, and start -
anchored to a specific goal.

Where This Tool Helps

Most goal-setting conversations focus on what to add. This worksheet surfaces the full picture - including what you need to stop doing and what you are already doing well. The result is a more honest action plan, one that accounts for limited time and energy rather than assuming infinite capacity.

Keeping your goal visible at the top as you work through each row prevents the common drift toward abstract brainstorming. Everything you write should connect back to that goal.

How to Use This Worksheet

  1. Write your goal in the "My Goal" field at the top. Be specific - a vague goal produces vague answers.
  2. Work through the five rows in order, from top to bottom.
  3. Write freely in each row. There are no wrong answers at this stage.
  4. Review your responses as a whole. Look for conflicts - for example, items in "Start Doing" that require capacity from "Stop Doing."
  5. Identify two or three high-leverage items to bring into your next coaching conversation.
